Homemade Amaretto

Who needs store-bought amaretto when you have this? You can tweak the ingredient porportions, depending on how thick or potent you like it.

Original recipe serves 18.

Scaling (About scaling and units)
Halve it | Double it | Triple it | Reset
Ingredients

1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup water
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 cups vodka
2 tablespoons almond extract

Preparation:

Combine water and sugars in a saucepan over medium heat. Heat until all sugar is dissolved and mixture is boiling. Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes. Combine with the almond and vanilla extracts, and vodka. Store in a sealed bottle. Makes 3 cups (18 servings).
