Cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves unite

Original recipe serves 24.

Ingredients

1 cup raisins
2 cups water
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg(s)
1 dash salt
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cloves

Preparation:

Boil 1 cup raisins and 2 cups water for 10 minutes. Then add 1 tsp. baking soda and cool. Mix shortening, sugar, egg, salt, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Bake in a 10x15 inch pan for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Frost with your favorite frosting.
