Strawberry Cake

If you like strawberries, you'll love this cake, complete with frosting.

Original recipe serves 12.

Ingredients

18 1/2 ounces yellow cake mix
3 ounces gelatin ; strawberry flavored
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 cup water
10 ounces strawberries ; frozen, drained
4 egg(s)
vegetable oil
4 3/4 cups confectioner's sugar
1/2 cup butter

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350F (175C). Grease and flour three 9 inch, round pans. Combine gelatin, cake mix and flour in a large bowl. Make a well in the center and add the eggs, water and oil. Stir in half of the strawberries. Beat with an electrix mixer on slow speed until blended. Scrape the sides and beat on medium speed for about 4 minutes. Pour the batter into the pans. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool. Drain the rest of the stMake the frosting by combining the rest of the strawberries, the butter, confectioner's sugar in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on high until creamy. Put a layer of frosting on the top of one cake, and place another cake on top of that. Frost the top of that layer, and add the remaining cake to the top. Frost the rest of the cake as desired.
