A low-fat twist on an Italian favorite.

Original recipe serves 4.

Scaling (About scaling and units)
Halve it | Double it | Triple it | Reset
Ingredients

1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
16 ounces tomato sauce
1 teaspoon olive oil ; extra virgin
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 egg(s) ; beaten
1 pound turkey ; ground
3 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon parsley ; ground
2 tablespoons oregano ; ground
1 teaspoon rosemary ; ground
1 teaspoon basil
1/8 cup parmesan cheese

Preparation:

Thoroughly combine all ingredients except tomato sauce in a large bowl. With wet hands, roll meat into 1 1/2 inch balls and brown on all sides in a large skillet with olive oil. Remove meatballs from the skillet and add to a large pot with tomato sauce. Cover and simmer over low to medium heat for 20 minutes. Serve over pasta.

Tried this with ground chicken, and it came out great!

i did not have any eggs on hand, so i tried using some olive oil as a substitution instead. about 3 or 4 tbsp did the trick.. i didn't really measure.
