Red Zinfandel

Red Zinfandel
Red Zinfandel is a red wine made from the zinfandel grape, including its red skin, and considered an American classic. Research indicates that the zinfandel grape may have originated in Italy, but it is now primarily grown in California.

Red Zinfandel goes well with "typical American food", like pizza and burgers, although its flavor is robust enough to go well with red sauces.

Most Red Zinfandels are drunk within a year, but some do age well. It should be noted that the flavor becomes a bit more mellow with age.

Red Zinfandel should be served at around 65°F (18°C).
