Merlot

Merlot
Merlot is a red wine made from the Merlot grape, which is mainly grown in France, California (United States), and Italy. It is also grown, but to a a lesser extent, in Australia, Canada, Argentina, Chile, Canada, Switzerland, South Africa, various parts of Eastern Europe, and some other areas of the United States such as Long Island.

Merlot flavor tends to have hints of plum, orange and currant, with a medium body. Merlot grapes are often mixed with others in Cabernet and Bordeux wines, though Merlot wine is usually a bit less harsh than other red wines.

Merlot goes well with heavy chicken dishes, beef, and flavorful red pasta sauces.

Merlot should be served at around 64°F (18°C).
