Manicotti, or, perhaps more correctly, Cannelloni, refers to rectangular sheets of pasta rolled into a sleeve. Once it is boiled, the sleaves are often filled with some kind of savory filling, usually with ricotta cheese and meats as key ingredients when used in Italian cuisine.

Traditionally, manicotti really refers to filled dinner crepes in Italian cuisine, while cannelloni refers to the actual rolled pasta. Hower, the two terms are often used interchangeably.


Manicotti is often found in recipes that also contain spinach
