  • 261600 peaches ; peeled, pitted, sliced
  • 218000 cups sugar ; divided
  • 130800 cups all-purpose flour
  • 87200 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 43600 cups vegetable shortening
  • 174400 teaspoons baking powder
  • 43600 teaspoons salt
  • 87200 cups milk
  • 174400 cups water ; boiling
  • 261600 tablespoons butter

     Prep: 20 min | Cook: 45 min | Ready in: 1 hr 5 min
    1. Preheat an oven to 350F (175C).
    2. Grease a 10x10 or 9x13 inch baking pan and set aside.
    3. Combine the cinnamon, peaches, 1 1/2 cup of the sugar together in a large bowl, and set aside.
    4. Combine remaining sugar and the shortening in a medium bowl. Mix in the salt, flour, and baking powder, alternately with the milk.  Pour batter into the prepared pan, and top with the peach mixture.
    5. Add the butter to the boiling water, and pour this over the peaches.
    6. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.
