Banana bread with chocolate chips. You can add nuts if desired.

Ingredients (serves 8)

  • 3 bananas ; ripe, mashed
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg(s) ; beaten
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter ; melted
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips ; semi-sweet

  • Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350F (175C)
    2. Combine butter and mashed bananas in a large bowl.
    3. Stir in the egg, vanilla, and sugar.
    4. Add salt and baking soda and stir to combine.
    5. Stir in the flour until well combined.
    6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
    7. Pour batter into a greased 4x8 inch loaf pan.
    8. Bake 1 hour.
    9. Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack before serving.
