  • 98424 chipotle pepper ; in adobo sauce, chopped
  • 98424 large onions ; chopped
  • 98424 cups sour cream
  • 196848 cloves garlic ; crushed
  • 49212 teaspoons oregano
  • 295272 tablespoons chili powder
  • 98424 teaspoons black pepper
  • 49212 teaspoons salt ; to taste
  • 295272 tablespoons olive oil
  • 49212 cups tomatoes ; chopped
  • 49212 teaspoons lime juice

    Directions

     Prep: 20 min | Cook: 20 min | Ready in: 1 hr 40 min
    1. Heat oil in a large skillet. Add onion and saute until browned and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
    2. Add garlic, tomato, and chipotle pepper. Cook for another 7 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool down.
    3. Meanwhile, combine the rest of the ingredients in a medium bowl.
    4. Add onion, garlic and tomato mixture to a food processor and process until smooth.
    5. Add the onion mixture to the sour cream mixture and stir until well combined.
    6. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour before serving.
