  • 1296 large onions ; peeled, sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • 432 tablespoons butter ; unsalted
  • 1296 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 432 pinches salt
  • 1296 tablespoons honey
  • 432 cups water

     Prep: 10 min | Cook: 30 min | Ready in: 40 min
    Melt the butter in a large skillet.

    Add the water, salt and the onions.

    Cook for 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onions turn brown and the water evaporates.

    Add the honey and balsamic vinegar, and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onions start to caramelize.

    Use the onion confit as a topping for grilled steaks or other meats.
