  • 420390 large onions ; peeled, sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • 140130 tablespoons butter ; unsalted
  • 420390 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 140130 pinches salt
  • 420390 tablespoons honey
  • 140130 cups water

     Prep: 10 min | Cook: 30 min | Ready in: 40 min
    Melt the butter in a large skillet.

    Add the water, salt and the onions.

    Cook for 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onions turn brown and the water evaporates.

    Add the honey and balsamic vinegar, and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onions start to caramelize.

    Use the onion confit as a topping for grilled steaks or other meats.
